Amy Newman Senior Administrative Assistant & Deputy Clerk to the Board

Amy Newman is the friendly face that greets many of the visitors to the Orange County Administration Office. She’s been here a little over a year, using her friendly demeanor and positive attitude to help residents and staff alike. In fact, she says her favorite part of the job is “helping others, I like to work behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly.” When asked if there was something she wished everyone knew about her job, it was characteristically focused on being a team player. She said she wishes everybody knew how enjoyable it is “get[ting] to work with a variety of folks and how being kind and helpful can change [a person’s] day. Growing up, she wanted to be a teacher, to help impart wisdom and spread joy and

When not helping residents, other staff members, or the Board, Amy enjoys spending time with her grandkids and kayaking with her husband. She enjoys easy listening music, romance novels, and the classic film Steel Magnolias (great choice)! We’re glad to have you as part of the team, Amy! and kindness. In fact, she did previously work for a school system, and one of her favorite professional memories is accompanying the Superintendent to read books hand out gifts to Pre-K students at Christmas time.
