By: Orange County Office On Youth Office on Youth to Launch Needs Assessment Survey
The mission of the Orange County Office on Youth (OOY) is “To prevent juvenile delinquency and promote positive youth development.” In support of this mission, the Office on Youth is exploring changes and enhancements to youth programming and is seeking valuable input from our community through the 2026 OOY Needs Assessment. In the past, the school system administered the biannual Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS), which provided important insight into the habits, experiences, and well-being of our youth. However, the most recent survey was conducted in 2019. The 2026 OOY Needs Assessment will help provide a current picture of the needs, experiences, interests, and challenges facing youth and families in Orange County.

The information gathered through this assessment will help the Office on Youth identify gaps in existing services and develop a roadmap for future programs and resources. Your honest and thoughtful responses are essential to this process and will help us better understand where additional support is needed. We encourage all participants to provide truthful, insightful, and constructive feedback. The information collected will be used to explore opportunities for programs, partnerships, and funding that can better serve the youth and families of Orange County.
Thank you for taking the time to participate and for helping us build a stronger future for the youth in our community.
If you have questions regarding this or other programs and/or services offered by the OOY, you can find information here.
