Play Ball! Batting Cages Open at Booster Park

Earlier this month, the new batting cages at Booster Park opened for public use. They are located on the upper part of the park beyond Field 2. Parks & Recreation is excited to offer this new amenity but reminds users of the following rules to help promote safety and the longevity of the equipment.  Use of the batting cages is on a first - come, first - serve basis. If people are waiting to use the batting cages, use is limited to 20 minutes.  All users of the batting cages understand they use the facility at their own risk. Orange County is not liable for any personal injury or equipment damage sustained in or around the batting cages.  Absolutely NO CLEATS are allowed in the batting cages. Batters are required to wear closed - toed shoes while in the batting cages.

 All batters are strongly encouraged to wear a helmet while in the batting cages.

 Youth under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

 Adults are responsible for the actions of the youths in the batting cages.

 Only two people will be in a batting cage at one time: the batter and the pitcher.

 All pitchers are strongly encouraged to use the “ L - Screen ” protective screen in the batting cage.

 The “ L - Screen ” protective screens are not to be removed from the batting cages.

 No private lessons are allowed in the batting cages.

 No food or drink is allowed inside the batting cages.

 All users are expected to keep the batting cages clean and free of litter at all times.
