Office Costume Contest
By: Orange County Communications Department
The eleventh year of our Office Costume Contest is in the books! This year, we enjoyed an increase in participant groups compared to last year. In terms of individual participants, more than 110 folks donned a costume for this event! We ’ re always amazed by the creativity displayed by the entrants. This year, themes ranged from classic bedsheet ghosts to donuts of the dunking (literally) variety. Since its creation, this contest has allowed the community to make their voice known by voting for their favorites on the Parks & Recreation Facebook page. Almost 1,400 took advantage of the opportunity by clicking the like button on their favorite entry ’ s photograph. Each year, the Facebook portion is
combined with a participation bonus and official judges ’ scores to determine the overall winners.
With that in mind, we are pleased to announce the overall winner of the contest is the Disney Villain entry from our Treasurer & Commission of the Revenue ’ s Office (perhaps a fitting tongue - in - cheek costume theme for tax season). Courtesy of the win, bragging rights return to the Treasurer ’ s Office. Perhaps this will “ make - up ” for last year ’ s KISS - themed entry falling short of the top spot. In second place for the second year in a row, the Extension Office made waves with their “ Under the Sea ” theme. Rounding out the podium, the Boys & Girls Club of Orange had both voters and judges “ feeling ” great about their Inside Out costumes. Check out all of the entries on this and the following page, then get with your coworkers and start planning for next year!
