Personnel File
Hailee Perry, Human Resource Specialist
Hailee Perry has worked for Orange County Human Resources for just over two years. She is passionate about human resources work, and wants staff to know that they are there to help “each and every employee.” She has enjoyed being part of a team that does a good job of removing the stigma that sometimes comes with the HR label. In fact, her favorite part of the job is interacting with staff. She says it prevents “monotony” and helps the “workday go by.” In particular, Hailee enjoys working with new hires during onboarding, and loves the opportunity to be one of the organization’s first welcoming faces after interviews. The role suits her. “First days can be stressful,” she noted. “I like to make sure we make them feel comfortable and ready to tackle their new position.”
In her personal time, Hailee enjoys being a basketball mom, travelling to tournaments with her son’s AAU team. “We spend a lot of time weekend traveling for basketball and I absolutely LOVE IT,” Hailee said. Sports talent must run in the family. Before parenthood, she was a dedicated women’s flag football player. “I played quarterback and linebacker for the Lady Rhinos in Fredericksburg for ten years,” she recalled. That competitive edge helps Hailee bring some serious good energy with her, and she’s no stranger to intense situations. She wanted to be a flight medic growing up, and actually served as a volunteer EMT in Spotsylvania County. She said being around COFEMS staff makes her want to get back on a truck sometimes. For fun, we asked what she would pick as her entrance music or theme song. Without hesitation, she said “cue the glass breaking and the Stone Cold Steve Austin entry music. I was a big WWF/WWE girl.” Well... we know we’re glad to have you, and that’s the bottom line .
