Paul Weber
Get to know Orange County staff... The Personnel File:
Airport Operations Manager
Paul Weber has served the Orange County Airport as its Operations Manager for a year and a half. Located just off of Route 20, the airport is very busy for a locality of our size. Every year, more than 7,500 aircraft operations (takeoffs or landings) take place at the facility. Paul wouldn ’ t have it any other way. Asked about the reason he wanted to work at the Orange County airport, he nodded towards the aircraft tied down on the apron, grinned, and said, “ they ’ re right out there. ” Paul has had a fascination with aircraft (particularly vintage ones) his whole life.
Juanesta Williams
Support Technician
Mr. Weber is a veteran of the Marine Corps. During this time, he had the opportunity to expand his interest and knowledge about aviation, both in his duties and the classroom. A great irony of his service is that one of his primary roles was “ anti - air warfare ” and he jokes that “ as much as I loved the planes, I was learning about how to shoot them down. ” However, he was simultaneously afforded the opportunity to earn a degree in Aviation Management through programs offered by the Corps. These studies helped prepare him for a future career working in airports. Some of his goals for the Orange County Airport include increasing awareness through activities like the recent movie night event (see page 23) and addressing a regional shortage in hangar space by increasing the facility ’ s capacity. When not spending time around aircraft, Paul enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, and working on restoring a 1940 LaSalle (his interest in vintage vehicles goes beyond just aircraft). Thank you for your service, Paul!
